CHICAGO, June 3, 2025 – JLL announced today a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to enhance the implementation of Microsoft Places through JLL’s innovative Osis technology. This integration represents a significant leap forward in workplace management technology and aims to streamline the adoption of flexible work environments and improve how organizations manage their workspaces.
JLL’s Osis technology addresses a critical challenge in the industry by automating the conversion of AutoCAD drawings and integrated workplace management system (IWMS) data into the indoor mapping data format (IMDF) required for Places. This process quickly provides automated floor plans for improved employee experience, significantly reducing the time and cost associated with manual conversions and allowing organizations to rapidly scale their workplace optimization efforts with Places.
“By combining JLL Osis’s powerful automation capabilities with Microsoft Places, we’re helping organizations unlock the full potential of their workplace, fostering agility and efficiency in today’s dynamic business environment,” said Sharad Rastogi, Chief Executive Officer, Work Dynamics Technology Group, JLL. “This collaboration will help our clients navigate the complexities of flexible work arrangements while optimizing their real estate investments.”
The key benefits of the JLL Osis and Places integration include:
- Seamless integration with existing IWMS platforms
- Intelligent floor plan visualization with live occupancy data
- Rapid processing and updating of IWMS connected spatial information
- Compatible with both legacy CAD and modern BIM formats
- Proactive portfolio data sharing resulting in significant time and cost savings for commercial real estate and IT teams
Additionally, by enabling the sharing of spatial and tabular data from IWMS platforms across an enterprise, OSIS facilitates improved connections between different corporate functions to support a better workplace experience for employees and visitors.
“The integration of JLL’s Osis technology between leading IWMS solutions and Places demonstrates our commitment to providing comprehensive, user-friendly solutions for the modern workplace,” said Reeves Davis, President, Technology Solutions, JLL. “For space managers and planners, Osis ensures that updates to portfolio and floor plan data are reflected immediately in Places.”
The Osis integration for Places is available immediately for organizations looking to transform their workplace management strategies.
“We are thrilled to partner with JLL, a global leader in real estate services and workplace solutions, to bring Microsoft Places to organizations worldwide,” said Brennan McReynolds, Principal Group Product Manager & Strategy Lead, Microsoft Places. “JLL’s extensive experience in workplace management and their commitment to innovation enable them to support organizations at every stage of their Places deployment. This collaboration will enable businesses to seamlessly integrate Microsoft’s suite of AI-Powered solutions with JLL’s comprehensive real estate services, empowering organizations to create more efficient, flexible, and engaging work environments. Together, we’re set to redefine the future of work by combining JLL’s industry expertise with Microsoft’s AI leadership.”
