Career summary
Michael is a Senior Managing Director in the Orange County office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas. He joined JLL as part of the HFF acquisition and has more than 35 years of institutional real estate investment experience. Michael is a part of a leadership team that oversees the West Coast Investment Advisory Group, which specializes in institutional-grade assests consisting of office, R&D, industrial, hospitality, medical office, and retail assets located throughout the western United States. His main activities primarily focus on larger transactions such as: recapitalization strategies, mergers and acquistions as well as alternative joint venture structures.
Michael joined HFF in May 2009 to start the West Coast Investment Advisory Group. Prior to HFF, he founded two companies — Cornish & Carey San Francisco and C&C Capital — through structuring joint ventures with Cornish & Carey Commercial. Before that, he spent 13 years at CB Richard Ellis, Inc., where he focused solely on institutional disposition assignments on the West Coast. Mr. Leggett has closed in excess of $25 billion in real estate transactions.
