Adam McGaughy

Current Responsibilities

Adam McGaughy is a Senior Managing Director in JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group, based in Chicago. As a senior leader, he plays a key role in shaping the group’s National and Central U.S. investment sales practice, specializing in the marketing and disposition of individual full-service and select-service hotels. Additionally, he leads the firm’s National Hotel Portfolio Solutions Group, providing strategic guidance on large-scale hospitality transactions.

Experience

With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Adam has built a distinguished career in Capital Markets real estate transactions, holding senior positions at leading corporations, including CBRE Hotels (Hotel Partners), Omni Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Marriott International. Since joining JLL in 2006, he has been instrumental in facilitating more than $10 billion in U.S. hotel transactions, bringing deep expertise in complex full-service and portfolio hotel sales for both public and private clients nationwide.

Adam holds a degree from The School of Hospitality Business at Michigan State University (MSU) and earned a dual M.B.A. in Real Estate Finance and Marketing from DePaul University. A dedicated industry leader, he serves on MSU’s Appointed Board of Directors for The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Association and the Hospitality Business Real Estate Advisory Council, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the school’s Real Estate Specialization Program.
