CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 17, 2025) – JLL today announces that Carbon Performance, a Tennessee-based fitness club, will open a 43,833-square-foot gym and wellness facility in the heart of Charlotte’s Lower South End district. Carbon Performance was represented by JLL’s Margot Bizon and Lindsay Stafford. The landlord was represented by Jay Royster and Henri Gresset with Gresset Commercial Real Estate.
Founded in 2020, Carbon Performance began in Franklin, Tennessee, as a 4,000-square-foot facility named Carbon Culture. Recognized early on for its high-end equipment, strong community and standout customer service, the brand quickly grew and evolved. In addition to the new Charlotte location that is expected to open in early 2026, Carbon Performance has two locations in Nashville and another opening soon in Atlanta.
“Carbon Performance's motto is ‘more than just a gym,’ which reflects our commitment to bringing a holistic and community-driven approach to health and fitness,” said Brent and Victoria Laffey, founders of Carbon Performance. "We are passionate about fitness and wellness, and excited to bring our premium equipment, proven culture and upscale amenities to the Charlotte community. "
Located at 3325 South Tryon St., Carbon Performance in Charlotte will blend elite fitness with spa-like recovery and thoughtful design. The space will feature plenty of parking, warm lighting, minimalist finishes and an atmosphere that is reminiscent of a high-end boutique hotel. The new fitness club is strategically located in Charlotte's growing and dynamic Lower South End neighborhood. Featuring excellent access to the Blue Lynx Light Rail, it is also surrounded by several Class-A developments with new retail, restaurants and amenities, as well as thousands of multifamily apartments.
“We were proud to work with Carbon Performance to secure such a high-quality and well-located space for its continued growth and expansion,” said JLL’s Bizon and Stafford. “Lower South End’s growing population and active community will benefit tremendously from having access to this premier fitness club.”
