Riaz Cassum

Riaz is an Executive Managing Director in the Boston office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas. He joined JLL as part of the HFF acquisition and has more than 37 years of experience in commercial real estate capital markets. He specializes in equity and debt advisory including raising real estate private equity funds and arranging programmatic joint ventures and equity recapitalizations through his affiliation with JLL Securities. During his career, Riaz has completed in-excess of $30 billion in commercial real estate transactions. As Head of International Capital for the Americas, Riaz leads JLL’s International Capital Coverage team focused on accessing cross-border capital for JLL’s capital markets offerings across all business lines in the U.S. Additionally, after serving on JLL Capital Markets, Americas’ Executive Committee, Riaz recently joined JLL’s Capital Markets Global Advisory Council to assist with the overall direction of the firm’s global capital markets business.

Riaz began his career with HFF in 1989 when it was known as Fowler, Goedecke, Ellis & O’Connor, Inc. Prior to that, he was a vice president with Wells Fargo Bank. Riaz has served on several boards and currently is a member of the Global Governing Board of Trustees of the Urban Land Institute.
