Guthrie Garvin is a Managing Director at JLL, where he focuses on representing New York City building owners in the sale of their properties. Guthrie has been involved in the sale of properties with an aggregate value of
over $3.09 billion.

Prior to his role at JLL, Guthrie was Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield from 2015-2018. Before Cushman, he was a Senior Vice President of Sales at Massey Knakal Realty Services, starting in 2004, which was acquired by Cushman & Wakefield on December 31, 2014. Guthrie handled the largest sale in Massey Knakal history for $282 million.

Guthrie’s clients include institutions, individual/families, as well as nonprofits. These clients include, Slate Real Estate Partners, The Archdiocese of NY, Delshah Capital, BlackRock, Abington Properties, HUBB, The Society of Jesus, Simon Baron Development, Boricua College, and The Diocese of Brooklyn.

Prior to real estate, Guthrie worked with Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a senior sales consultant. A member of their marketing and leadership development teams, Guthrie was an international sales trainer and was named “Salesman of the Year”. Before Novartis, he worked as a full-time volunteer on the island of Chuuk in Micronesia for one year.

Outside of JLL, Guthrie is an active participant in the nonprofit world. He is a supporter and long-time volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House on the Upper East Side. He also served on the board of trustees for the James Lenox House, an institution dedicated to affordable housing for older adults. At James Lenox House he chaired the fundraising committee and served as a member of the nominating committee. He is a past advisory board member of Cristo Rey New York High School- a nonprofit high school that combines on-the-job work experience with academics. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Brooklyn Jesuit Prep, a middle school serving low-income families of diverse races, ethnicities and faiths. Additionally, he is an active member of the Fordham University President’s Council. Other organizations where Guthrie is involved include R.E.N.T. Real Estate Group, YMWREA, REBNY, CHIP and the NYAC.
