Premier Berkeley student housing refinance secured
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 29, 2026 – JLL Capital Markets announced today that it has arranged refinancing for IDENTITY Logan Park, a two-phase, premier student housing community totaling 720 beds serving University of California, Berkeley students.
JLL represented the borrower, Article Student Living, an operating platform of QuadReal Property Group, in securing financing with funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”).
IDENTITY Logan Park I and II are located at 2050 Durant Ave. and 2370 Durant Ave., just 0.4 miles from UC Berkeley's campus in downtown Berkeley. The properties offer direct access to campus resources and downtown Berkeley amenities, with BART providing 25-minute rides to San Francisco and convenient connections to major Bay Area Fortune 500 employers.
Berkeley hosts UC Berkeley, the No. 2 ranked public university in the nation with 46,403 students. The downtown Berkeley area features an educated population with 80.5% holding college degrees and has experienced steady growth, creating a dynamic environment supporting both academic and urban living.
IDENTITY Logan Park features two contemporary buildings completed in 2022 and 2023, totaling 720 beds across 204 units. The properties offer studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with premium finishes, including stainless steel appliances, in-unit washers and dryers and smart TVs. Community amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, rooftop sky lounge, study spaces and the market's first dedicated campus shuttle service for residents.
