James Allan is MEA CEO at JLL, responsible for overseeing the firm’s operations in the Middle East and Africa.
With over 20 years of experience in real estate, he is responsible for leading 1,650 employees, driving strategic growth and enhancing JLL’s service offerings across key business lines. His leadership focuses on delivering best-in-class advisory services, fostering strong client relationships, ensuring high-quality outcomes in an evolving real estate landscape.
Prior to his current role, James spent over 17 years working in Asia, including six as Country Head of JLL Indonesia, where he played a pivotal role in shaping business strategy, overseeing operations and strengthening JLL’s market presence. His expertise spanned leasing, residential, capital markets and tenant representation, making him a versatile and results-driven leader.
Before leading JLL Indonesia, James was Head of Office Leasing Advisory at JLL Shanghai, specializing in tenant representation and major leasing transactions. His impact extended across the region as a Board Member for JLL Asia Pacific’s Leasing and Tenant Representation, where he contributed to regional strategy, market expansion and industry best practices.
James’ focus is now on JLL’s MEA business, helping clients and investors capitalize on opportunities in the region’s dynamic real estate markets. His strategic insight, relationship-driven approach and deep industry expertise continue to strengthen our leadership position in the Middle East and Africa.
James holds an MSc in real estate appraisal from the University of Reading and is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is also a LEED Green Associate, SFA Securities Representative. James also holds an ACI Pre-Diploma in Foreign Exchange Money Markets.
