AUSTRALIA, 18 March 2022 – At the forefront of JLL’s values is that a diverse and inclusive culture is one where everyone succeeds, by creating an environment where all feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
JLL is proud to launch the Veterans’ Employment Program in collaboration with Soldier On and its Pathways program. This program is to support the recruitment and workforce participation of veterans.
Soldier On is a national not-for-profit veteran support organisation delivering a range of services to support serving and ex-serving veterans and their families.
The new program has been officially launched at JLL’s Canberra office in partnership with Soldier On.
JLL’s Work Dynamics Managing Director, Ben Tindale said, “At JLL, we pride ourselves on creating a diverse workplace that celebrates the unique backgrounds of our people, and we are proud to be recognised as a veteran-friendly employer. The program will provide leaders with the skills they need to bridge the military-civilian knowledge gap and best support our JLL veterans in their career development.”
Australia’s veteran community consists of more than one million people, resulting in a significant talent pool that can be recruited from. JLL currently employs a number of veterans across the organisation.
JLL’s Work Dynamics Defence Lead, Geoff Camp said, “Veterans have an extensive range of skills, experience and qualifications that make them valuable members of the civilian workforce and we want to aid career transition and progression from these highly trained, organised, resilient leaders.”
As a Soldier On Gold Pledge Partner, JLL will work directly with Soldier On in demonstrating our commitment to creating veteran-friendly workplaces and recognising the skills and attributes ex-services personnel have to offer.
Mr Camp said, “In collaboration with the Soldier On Pathways program, JLL will be able to best provide veteran supportive recruitment, retention, training and workplace culture initiatives throughout our organisation, to enable veterans and their families to secure their future career.”
Soldier On CEO, Ivan Slavich said welcomed JLL’s launch of the Veterans’ Employment Program.
“We look forward to working with JLL to provide more employment opportunities to our serving and ex-serving veterans and their families. JLL’s Veterans’ Employment Program is another way we can help veterans and their families to find and secure new employment and education pathways, enabling them to thrive,” Mr Slavich added.
In 2021 JLL signed the Veterans’ Employment Commitment - an initiative of the Prime Minister’s Veterans’ Employment Program.
