JLL appoints Selina Short CEO of Australia and New Zealand
JLL announced the appointment of Selina Short as Chief Executive Officer of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Ms Short succeeds Luke Billiau, who served as interim CEO and will return to his full-time position as Head of Capital Markets for ANZ. The appointment will be effective 11 May.
"This is an important step in strengthening the operations of our ANZ business and bringing tremendous global and domestic insights to our clients,” said Richard Bloxam, Global Executive Board Member, JLL. “Selina brings an exceptional depth of knowledge in shaping the future of the built environment and driving outstanding outcomes and value for clients. I would like to also extend our deepest gratitude to Luke for stepping into the interim role and providing much-needed stability for our teams and clients while driving our shared values of Teamwork, Ethics and Excellence.”
Ms Short joins JLL from EY, where she served as Clients & Industries Managing Partner and a member of the firm's Oceania Executive Leadership Team. In this role, she led industry strategy, major client relationships and thought leadership across the region, establishing herself as a trusted advisor to governments, developers, investors and asset owners.
From 2019 to 2024, Ms Short led EY’s Built Environment and Resources practice across Oceania, overseeing a business spanning real estate, construction, infrastructure and resources. Under her leadership, the practice achieved record growth and ranked first for client favourability and exceptional client service.
"I'm excited to be joining JLL at a pivotal time for the Australian and New Zealand markets,” said Ms Short. “JLL has outstanding talent, and I am looking forward to working alongside teams across the business as they continue to deliver innovative solutions that shape the future of real estate for our clients.”
Selina Short brings significant built environment industry leadership experience, currently serving as a Director of the Green Building Council of Australia and as a member of the Champions of Change Coalition (Property Group) – a role she has held since its establishment in 2015.
Ms Short also held previous roles on NSW Government’s Landcom Board, Building 4.0 Cooperative Research Centre, and Property Council of Australia National Cities committee.
The appointment reflects JLL’s continued commitment to the ANZ market and delivering world-class real estate services that help clients achieve their strategic objectives.
