Our Women of Defence : Vera Tacheva
Vera Tacheva, a Senior Project Manager at JLL in Perth, Western Australia, brings over 25 years of architectural and project management experience to her role in the Defence sector. Her skills and dedication are essential to delivering exceptional results on complex projects.
With dual master’s degrees in architecture and building information modelling, Vera possesses a comprehensive understanding of both design and construction technologies. She manages facilities and infrastructure projects for the Department of Defence under the Estate Works program.
"Working in Defence appealed to me because of the variety of projects and the opportunity to collaborate with a range of experts," Vera explains. As a Senior Project Manager, she ensures projects meet Defence's requirements, budgets, and timelines. This includes coordinating with stakeholders, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with standards. Examples of her complex work include high-level bridge repair works at HMAS Stirling.
Vera is an AIPM Certified Practicing Project Director and a member of the Australian Institute of Project Management. She also maintains her registration as an architect, highlighting her commitment to professional excellence.
