Panji has found a career that allows him to use his strongest skills - communicating with people and negotiating.
Can you tell us about you role in JLL?
I’m a client leasing manager responsible for representing tenants. My day-to-day is meeting with clients, evaluate and shortlist space, keeping ahead of market insights and intelligence, taking clients on site inspections, and doing various reports and negotiating on behalf of our clients. What I like about my role is the opportunity to interact with regional and global team not only within JLL but also from client side. The important skills required to be a great client leasing manager is not only negotiation skills but also great interpersonal skills. My role requires me to sometimes work with various departments within JLL and I enjoy being part of a larger organisation where I engage with many people who have varied skills and experience from which I can learn.
What are your passions outside of work?
I like to paint, super amateur painter. Oil on canvas is my preferred media. My compositions are of course abstract - that speaks to my personality. What I usually do is I create an abstract image first, then I begin to add colour to the composition. Painting gives me calm and a moment of self-reflection. The other reason I like to pant is because there is no right or wrong about it. Art is really subjective and can be interpreted in different ways by different people.
What do you find most rewarding in your role?
The work culture at JLL is like a family. So when I finish my work day I am content and satisfied because I know that have put in my best effort to help our clients and my colleagues to achieve their ambitions. At the end of the day it’s not only about achieving my personal ambitions but also achieving collective ambitions of my team and helping our clients achieve theirs.
