JLL announced today that Richard Golding has joined the business as EMEA Portfolio Services Lead, with oversight of the business’ Consulting, Transaction Management, and Lease Administration services across the region.

In addition to heading up EMEA Portfolio Services, Golding will also lead JLL's UK & Ireland Work Dynamics business. With a focus on leveraging his extensive experience with technology clients, he joins the EMEA Work Dynamics Board, the Global Portfolio Services Leadership Team and the UK Executive Committee. Golding reports to Sue Asprey Price, EMEA CEO & Global Head of Portfolio Services, Work Dynamics, at JLL.

A recognised leader in the CRE industry, Golding joins from Cushman & Wakefield where he served on the firm’s Global Occupier Services, EMEA and UK&I Executive Committees, alongside his role as Sector Lead for its Technology, Media and Telecoms group. He brings over 20 years of experience aligning portfolio strategies to clients' business objectives and operational needs.

“We are delighted to welcome Richard to the business,” said Asprey Price. “Throughout an impressive career, he has forged a reputation for building high-performing teams while driving organic growth and developing lasting client relationships through his enterprise mindset and creative approach to client development.” She added, “Richard brings a wealth of experience to JLL, which positions him perfectly to advise and support our clients as they adapt their business strategies in line with evolving market dynamics.”

The appointment comes at a critical time when organisations are focused on portfolio optimisation and right sizing their cost structure to align to their business objectives. According to JLL's latest Work Dynamics Pulse Survey, 73% of EMEA clients identify reducing operating costs as a top priority, while 60% cite optimising space utilisation as a key corporate real estate objective. With 50% of organisations expecting higher utilisation in the next few years and ongoing portfolio rightsizing efforts, companies are seeking strategic guidance to navigate the balance between cost reduction and maintaining adequate space for increased in-office attendance requirements. Golding's extensive background in working with clients on their strategic business objectives will play a vital role in supporting firms who are navigating these complex portfolio decisions and seeking to optimise their real estate strategies for long-term efficiency.

“Having worked with Richard, on opposite sides, on several transactions over the years I’m excited that our UK teams and clients now get to benefit from his insights and expertise,” said Matthew Richards, CEO JLL UK & Head of EMEA Capital Markets. “His decades of leadership experience ensure that he has the ability to truly understand the rapidly evolving wants and needs of corporate occupiers. His appointment will strengthen our market leading teams and support them to continue to bring the best of JLL to our clients.”

“I’m super excited and energised by this opportunity and can’t wait to start working with my new colleagues to provide innovative solutions that meet our clients' evolving needs,” said Golding. “JLL has recognised that businesses coming to market for commercial real estate solutions are now placing much more value on partners that can provide an integrated offering, rather than individual services. By uniting Lease Administration, Consulting and Transaction Management under one banner, we’re recognising the change in the way organisations are buying commercial real estate services now. I’m delighted to be joining a great team at a time when we have the opportunity to really transform the way we support our clients.”
