JLL has appointed Lyndon Ellis to join its Rating business as a Director in the Birmingham office. Lyndon’s role will involve him leading a new team to further develop JLL’s solutions for clients that face business rates charges for empty properties, either wholly or in part.
Lyndon will draw upon his wealth of experience, having most recently worked as a Director at CBRE, providing strategic Real Estate advice on Business Rates tax to some of the largest owners, occupiers, retailers, developers and investors in the country. Before working at CBRE, Lyndon previously worked at GL Hearn, DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) after starting his career at Gloucester City Council.
Tim Beattie, Head of UK Rating at JLL said, “Lyndon is a fantastic addition to the Rating business. Building an industry leading rating team allows us to extend our client proposition and to ensure that we continue to deliver exceptional service for our clients.
We understand Ratepayers, both from Investor/Developer and Occupier side are experiencing increased costs at present. Business Rates is an obvious area to focus cost saves initiatives, particularly with a Revaluation looming in April 2023. The work Lyndon focusses on supports not only Landlords of vacant building, developers of new premises but also occupiers who may be going through estates rationalisation programmes that creates vacant space within their portfolio.”
Lyndon Ellis, Rating Director at JLL added, “JLL’s Rating team is highly regarded in the industry and has grown considerably in recent years. I look forward to adding my expertise to further support the growth of the JLL Rating and playing a key role in delivering a first-class service for our clients in keeping their business rates to the lowest possible level at a time, particularly at a time when costs are so high on everyone’s agenda.”
