Building the foundations for a career in project delivery
For Abdullah Alangari, a career in project delivery is driven by a passion for collaboration, strategic thinking, and bringing complex ideas to life. A recent graduate from Suffolk University in Boston with a degree in International Relations, Abdullah joined JLL’s Project & Development Services fit-out team in KSA, where he has quickly gained hands-on experience supporting large-scale projects and working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
Although his academic background was not rooted in real estate or construction, Abdullah recognized early on the strong connection between diplomacy and project management both require navigating diverse stakeholders, aligning competing priorities, and working toward shared objectives.
“What motivated me was the opportunity to apply my skills in a results-driven environment,” says Abdullah. “I realized that project management requires the same ability to coordinate multiple parties, manage competing interests, and drive toward common goals.”
Over the past several months, Abdullah has been involved in a major office fit-out project in KAFD spanning 13 floors and more than 12,500 square meters. The experience gave him valuable exposure to project planning, stakeholder coordination, and the fast-paced nature of large-scale project delivery.
One of the biggest lessons, he says, has been understanding the importance of communication and teamwork throughout every stage of a project.
“What stood out to me was how critical proactive coordination and communication were to keeping the project on track,” he explains.
“Seeing different teams work together while managing timelines and expectations showed me how important collaboration is in delivering successful projects.”
As he continues to grow professionally, Abdullah sees JLL’s Graduate Development Program as an important foundation for building the technical expertise, industry exposure, and leadership skills needed to support the next generation of projects shaping Saudi Arabia’s future.
