Recipients of the 2025-2026 JLL Canada Award at the UBC Sauder School of Business announced

TORONTO, July 16, 2026 – JLL Canada today announced recipients of its 2025–2026 scholarship award at the UBC Sauder School of Business, now in the fifth year of the partnership. The award supports students pursuing careers in commercial real estate by expanding pathways into the industry.

UBC Sauder recipients displayed academic excellence, leadership, and community impact. This year's awardees are Madina Thiam and Elizabeth Alabi, both UBC Bachelor of Commerce students whose achievements reflect the program's commitment to recognizing emerging talent.

As a student at the UBC Sauder School of Business, I am passionate about using my business and financial skills to create safe, accessible spaces for creativity and artistic expression, particularly within minority communities.
Through my initiative, Rhythm for a Reason, I organize donation-based dance workshops that both educate participants on the cultural roots of dance and raise funds for global causes, including supporting youth at Invisible Kids Academy in Congo. This work reflects my long-term goal of building sustainable, community-driven spaces where art, culture, and opportunity intersect.
This scholarship not only eases financial pressures but also affirms the dedication and hard work I have invested in both my academic and community pursuits. It allows me to continue growing as a student, leader, and changemaker, and brings me one step closer to creating meaningful impact in the communities I care deeply about.
