Brussels, 30 June 2026 – JLL announces it has earned WELL Platinum certification for its Brussels headquarters, the highest level of the WELL Building Standard. This international recognition, administered by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), distinguishes spaces that place occupant health, wellbeing and performance at the heart of their design and operation.
Understanding the WELL Building Standard
The WELL Building Standard evaluates workspaces across ten evidence-based concepts: Air, Water, Nourishment, Light, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community. Achieving Platinum level, the highest tier, demonstrates exceptional leadership in health and wellbeing within the built environment.
Beyond base building performance
The WELL standard differentiates between building certification (WELL Core), which addresses the structure and base building systems managed by the landlord, and workspace certification, which applies to fit-out and policies deployed by the occupier. JLL's Platinum certification is of this second, more demanding type. This means JLL has not simply selected a high-performance building, but has actively designed every aspect of its environment to directly impact the daily experience of its employees.
Responding to market demands
This approach addresses a critical market challenge. In Belgium's tight labour market, where talent scarcity is driving companies to reconsider their value proposition, health and wellbeing programmes have become the second most important criterion in employment after salary, according to JLL research. The Brussels office, located at 10 Rue Montoyer, was designed to embody this principle and integrates concrete solutions including advanced air filtration systems, optimized circadian lighting, and layouts that encourage movement.
Human-centric design in practice
Patrice Delleuze, Creative & Innovation Director at Tétris Belux, explains: "This human-centric objective guided the design from the outset, influencing the architecture—with priority given to natural light and biophilia—and our technical choices such as air quality monitoring via CO₂ sensors. Beyond Cradle to Cradle certified materials, we prioritized the reuse of carpets, glazing and furniture. Finally, the space encourages physical activity through an iconic central staircase and sit-stand desks for all employees."
A commitment to excellence
Amandine Chizelle, CEO of JLL Belux, concludes: "Achieving WELL Platinum certification for our Belux headquarters represents far more than technical recognition. It's the realization of our deep conviction: when people thrive, businesses prosper too. We didn't take the easy path. Reaching this level of excellence mobilized our teams, demanded ambition and collaboration, and pushed us to rethink our standards. This achievement reflects our identity and our commitment to the future."
Leading by example
This certification reinforces JLL's positioning as a reference player in responsible real estate and innovative workspace design. With seven JLL offices already certified across the EMEA region, the firm tangibly demonstrates the expertise it deploys daily for clients to transform their workspaces into drivers of performance, talent attraction and retention.
