Rental growth for prime office space across the globe continues at a steady pace. The JLL Global Office Index, which tracks the performance of 95 major markets, reveals quarterly growth of 0.6% in third-quarter 2014, compared to 0.7% in the second quarter. Rents rose by 2.8% year-on-year, which is the strongest annual growth since first quarter 2012. About two-thirds of all markets have recorded rental uplifts over the past year.
Tenant options are being squeezed in many markets due to a dearth of quality office space and corporate occupiers will be exposed to rental growth over the next 12 months as positive sentiment extends over a wider geography. We project prime rental growth to accelerate by more than 4% in 2015.
