As Executive Vice President of JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group based in China, Clinton is responsible for the firm’s Chinese capital outflow initiatives.

With over thirteen years of experience in the global hotel and real estate market, Clinton has gained expertise in the investment and asset management of hotels, commercial and residential developments in various cities around the world. His background combines global real estate investment with a profound understanding of the Chinese companies’ investment approach and China’s business environment.

Clinton joined JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group in January 2015 as Executive Vice President in China, where he is responsible for harvesting Chinese capital and advising investors on making overseas investment in the hospitality sector.

Prior to JLL, Clinton served as Director of Cindat Capital Management Limited, a China based overseas real estate investment management firm where he has been responsible for identifying transactions in key markets around the world and assembling Chinese equity and debt to execute on investment opportunities.  He also severed as lead asset manager for a commercial asset in Chicago and has successful achieved fund’s investment objectives.  

Clinton also previously worked for Merrill Lynch Asian Real Estate Opportunity Fund in China where he helped source and evaluate investment opportunities at project and corporate levels. In addition, he was the lead asset manager for a hotel development in Guangzhou and an office building in Shanghai.  

Prior to Merrill Lynch, Clinton served as Vice President of JLL’s Hotel and Hospitality Group where he was responsible for hotel and mixed-use transactions in key cities throughout China.  During this time, he advised owner of Traders Hotel Kunshan on asset management issues, formulated a sales strategy for this upscale business hotel and achieved a record price per key for hotel transactions in the region.

After graduating in 1999, Clinton worked in the Los Angeles office of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels where he undertook advisory and transaction assignments ranging from convention centers to complex hotel portfolios in major US cities including New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Boston and Chicago.

Clinton has a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate Finance and Hotel Administration from Cornell University.
