JLL’s Hotels and Hospitality Group strengthens global offering with first Hong Kong appointment

Relocation of Phoebe Teo from Singapore to Hong Kong will enhance firm’s capability to deliver hotels and hospitality services and opportunities in the region to both local and global hotel owners, operators and investors

HONG KONG, 17 September, 2014 — JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group (“JLL H&H”) has announced its first appointment in Hong Kong, strengthening its commitment to deliver Greater China services and opportunities to the global market.  Phoebe Teo, Senior Vice President, Strategic Advisory Hotels & Hospitality Group, has been relocated from Singapore to Hong Kong to fulfil the role.

In her new position, Phoebe will focus on the valuation of hotel assets, together with feasibility, strategic consultancy and professional work. Leveraging her extensive market knowledge, her relocation will allow JLL’s clients in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and China greater access to the firm’s multi-disciplined team across Asia Pacific. Phoebe will be joined by support staff as well as an Investment Sales colleague whose focus will be to deliver outstanding sales results for Hong Kong’s owners and investors alike.

Joining JLL Singapore in June 2000, Phoebe transferred to Europe in March 2004 where she spent eight years responsible for the delivery of valuation and strategic consultancy on a wide range of hotel assets across a variety of countries. In June 2012, she returned to Asia and re-joined the Singapore Advisory team.
JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group has a strong history of working in the Hong Kong market. JLL recently advised the sale of the Novotel Nathan Road (2012) and has valued numerous four and five star hotels over the past 20 years.

Scott Hetherington, Chief Executive Officer Asia of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Hotels & Hospitality Group said: “We are seeing strong investor demand from the Hong Kong market. With her extensive experience and market knowledge, Phoebe’s relocation will enhance our capability to advise these investors regarding opportunities across the region, while also strengthening our position on the ground in Hong Kong to deliver specialist advice to hotel owners, operators and investors.”

Joseph Tsang, Managing Director of Jones Lang LaSalle Hong Kong said: “Having Phoebe join us here is exciting news to the entire JLL Hong Kong team. Her solid track record in providing specialist hotel advice to hotel clients around Asia and globally will no doubt add tremendous value to our client offerings, especially our advisory services in the booming hotel and hospitality industry.”

Phoebe Teo said: “Hong Kong is one of our key markets and a region that we have substantial knowledge of and experience in. Having a base in Hong Kong will allow us to tap into nearby markets such as Macau and Taiwan, as well as leverage the strength of the local JLL office to work together on winning new mandates.”
