Connecting with the community

The JLL Charlotte team shows they're committed to connecting with the community in every way.

At JLL, we are committed to being a responsible member of our community. Our decentralized community outreach strategy enables us to address the local needs of the communities in which we operate, as well as capitalize on the talents and interests of our local workforces.

Here in Charlotte, we see philanthropy as a way to serve our community and enhance our team. We select organizations and projects that allow us to make significant contributions to programs that help individuals with basic economic and emotional needs.

Every quarter, Charlotte employees spend their lunch break supporting “Operation Sandwich,” making over 800 sandwiches for the Urban Ministry Center.

In 2011 and 2012, JLL Charlotte partnered with a local elementary school to help improve student achievement and drive family engagement. We raised over $20,000 for their PTA, painted a cafeteria mural, hosted a teacher luncheon, created a student-designed calendar to raise money, and organized a school wide Read-A-Thon to increase literacy.

Each month, Charlotte employees donate their time to a variety of local charities. So far this year, we have collected hundreds of pounds of non-perishables for Second Harvest Food Bank, helped build a house with Habitat for Humanity and sorted thousands of canned goods for Loaves and Fishes, among other projects.

Every year, we serve as a sponsor for the Charlotte commercial real estate 6-on-6 volleyball tournament. At the 2013 tournament, $85,000 was raised for A Child’s Place, a charity dedicated to supporting homeless families with school-aged children.
