Battersea Power Station, dormant and derelict for nearly 50 years is undergoing revitalisation as the centrepiece of one of the city's largest and most dramatic residential and mixed-use projects.
Battersea Power Station, an iconic London landmark on the banks of the River Thames is the focus of the city's largest and most dramatic redevelopment project. Occupying a 16 ha site the project will see the creation of over 3,000 new dwellings and 335,000 sq m of retail, leisure hotel and office space over a 15 year period, at an estimated cost of £8 billion.
JLL is playing a pivotal role in bringing the scheme to life, leveraging our wealth of global experience in large scale, city-shaping projects to help transform this derelict precinct to a new town centre-like community and visitor destination. Our team of real estate experts are helping the Malaysian-led development consortium of SP Setia Bhd and Sime Darby through the provision of multi-faceted advisory, valuation, investment, planning, development and marketing services. After advising on the bidding and acquisition process, JLL was also engaged as international residential sales agent, with 75% of the 600 units committed within the first week of launch.
"Today is a triumphant moment in Battersea Power Station's rebirth as well as a glowing testimony to London's attractiveness for global investors" Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, Ground Breaking Ceremony, 4 July 2013
